I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Sysco in Aug 2018
Interview
I applied a month ago for the outside sales rep position. I am highly qualified as I have both sales and food experience of over 12 years. Carter Norwood from Texas was the guy who called me for a phone interview two weeks after I applied and had the worst communication I have ever seen. He didn’t call me after he sent an email for scheduled time, he was impossible to get ahold of. I was told I would be told within a week if I would have a second interview but he would let me know either way. I called him twice after two weeks and no answer. Again! I was finally sent an email this morning that they hired another person. Figures! Wouldn’t work for them even if I was chosen, way too disorganized and a lack of communication would limit a reps success.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
How would you approach a new restaurant opening to get them to buy our service?
Cancelled interview on me the day before I was supposed to be interviewed. I am qualified but they wouldn’t even give me a chance to interview If Sysco wants to get quality people they should at least interview
I received a call from the regional manager! Great experience! I spent 45 minutes on the phone getting to know each other and at the end I was told I would be moving on to the next phase.
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Sysco
Interview
I was contacted by a District Sales Manager thru a friend who referred me who currently works at Sysco. On the day of our scheduled interview for 1:30 at a diner I showed up 15 minutes early and was seated due to me arriving first. After 25 minutes of waiting I reached out to the District Manger who I was supposed to meet with thru text asking about if he was at the diner yet, he responded by saying "Unfortunately no, the interview was at 1:30 I am already back at the office. Thank you for your time."
I tried calling/emailing/texting him but was never answered.
