I worked at Sysco full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    -benefits
    -free food/discounted food
    -spacious office space

    Cons

    -closed to feedback
    -biased treatment
-raises are abysmal even with great results
    -lay offs are random

    Advice to Management

Work on raising your profit margins besides cutting costs. We all know you lay off employees because all you care about is satisfying shareholders and making money. Too bad you can't buy Amazon just like you bought out all of the other competition. It's a shame such a great company has fallen to such bad standards over the years. Only the employees who are in the top category of sales have a safe future. HR needs to work on being more unbiased, when people can make rumors and management downtalks certain employees openly there shouldn't be a discussion to dismiss their behavior.

I have been working at Sysco full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Decent pay and benefits. In general regular staff are good people to work with

    Cons

Upper management are clueless only interested in bottom line. Employees mean nothing. Can let people go at a drop of a hat. No ethics.

    Advice to Management

Care about all staff not just higher ups. It was the small people that helped you get where you are! Management forgets this.

I have been working at Sysco full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Benefits are good. Big company just on outside.

    Cons

This company is custom made for those that are here since 20-30 years before their small companies were acquired by Sysco corporation. Their job is always secure though they just sit around and and do no work. All others that have been newly hired or working so hard since 1-2 years are just surviving to save their jobs. No pay hike no promotion. They suddenly decide let us fire this person or lay off or just demote as though it is a game with no relation to the work that they are doing. They love to play with careers and lives of employees who are less than 5 years in the organization. Higher management have no idea what out in the market. They are there since 30 years. Sysco is their first and last company. They don't take any new ideas from lateral hires or implement to change the old business model. They just want to increase their sales and crush every employee working hard for the company in the process. They use outdated softwares.

    Advice to Management

The whole upper management and business model needs to be changed. The HR policies are pathetic. Listen to fresh hires and see what can be done to make the company more modern than using 30 year old company model.

    Pros

Great company to work for. Support is something that is available to those who ask. I have nothing negative to say about this company.

    Cons

Doesn't everyone have to work 40 hours a week or more. Not going to complain.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the great work!!
