I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Synchrony (Merriam, KS) in Sep 2015
Interview
Applied for, and thought I was interviewing for, Senior Resolution Specialist position. Interview involved typical "tell me about a time" questions which weren't at all difficult. I was offered a Customer Service Representative position at an entry-level rate of pay. What "sold" me was the opportunity for promotion within a rapidly growing organization. I reluctantly accepted as the pay was very low, with a start date 3 weeks away. I began "processing" involving background check, fingerprinting and drug test. I completed the fingerprinting and drug test and replied with everything the background checking service requested (3 of my W2s as they couldn't verify my employment). I immediately complied (within minutes, each time). On the Friday before I was to start, I received a phone call advising the complete results of my background check had not been returned so, I couldn't start that following Monday. But, "great news", I could be included in their training class in another month. Absolutely absurd. I know my background, provided complete disclosure in my application for everything requested. There's nothing in my history which would have precluded me from getting this job. The three documents I submitted are still showing "Pending Review." I'm not going to wait another month to start an entry-level job after waiting and cooperating for the past month. Horrible experience! It just doesn't take this long - no matter what.
