Interview
First 45 min phone interview with one of the data scientist. Talked about the thing they do and ask about my research background and experience. She was friendly and quite helpful. It went well so they sent the data science challenge. I submitted my solution. But later they decide not to move with me.
Got the standard HR screening and an interview with a hiring manager. Then was given a take home case assignment. They said it would take <8 hours; it ended up taking nearly double that. A lot of time was spent trying to open their data files (given in 1m+ row Excel files). You synthesize and write a proposal document to submit for review.
sql, take home test with coding, stats. mixture of different assessments all in one day.
task related to modelling of customer spend freqency/churn, was also asked about competencies, and ab testing.

I had a screening call with a senior, turned out he’s not the hiring manager. Then, I had a take home assignment. Then, they just told me that there’s no team that matches with me, and I just have to wait.
