Regarding interviews, there are 4 steps available: Recruiter, Hiring Manager, Take Home Case Study, Leadership Team Interviews. Although the process was positive and I was expecting return from the recruiter about the next steps as per my talk with the Hiring Manager, Recruiter neither returned to me after weeks nor replied to my emails about the process. Thereafter, by coincidence, I learned that Spotify slowed hiring amid economic uncertainty. Most highly, this position might be affected by this situation. There might be other reasons as well. In all cases, as a professional, I am open to understand and accept the reasons but I could not get any. I strongly believe that Spotify could better manage this Recruitment process in the way forward, with more effective communication through empathizing with the interviewees and demonstrating a mutual respect to time and efforts, already invested by both sides.

I applied online through Spotify’s own website and career portal and then was contacted by HR for an initial phone screening interview call roughly 2 weeks after. After this call, the recruiter scheduled a 30 minute video interview with the hiring manager. The Hiring Manager was very kind in providing additional context about the role and its responsibilities itself as well as the broader organization it would sit under. HM asked pretty broad questions about my work experience and the follow up questions were aimed with how this would tie into the role requirements. Got an automated email 1-2 days later from the recruiter with no information and when I followed up asking for any feedback I was not provided with any.
