I had the opportunity to connect with the recruiter who promptly introduced me to the hiring manager. They were candid about the challenges they were facing in finding the right fit for the role. Subsequently, I engaged in a series of interviews with three other team members. During these interactions, several concerns became apparent: high turnover rates, significant budget cuts, and a sense of urgency to demonstrate value despite limited accomplishments.
In the final interview, the interviewee seemed to embellish their title, perhaps in an attempt to impress me or establish a sense of parity. This left me somewhat perplexed about the overall approach. However, what followed was radio silence. The recruiter never reached out, and I didn't even receive a standard email notifying me of the outcome.
In hindsight, given the subsequent acquisition by Cisco and further layoffs, it seems like not progressing with the role was actually a fortunate outcome.
