I applied through university. I interviewed at Southern California Edison
Interview
1. Phone interview with HR - basic screening questions, why would you like to work for SCE, tell us about your background, what are you currently studying, etc.
2. In-person interview with hiring manager & upper management - I assume these were standard intern questions because they were being read off a list. They were not catered to the position at all. Tell us about your background? What's your strength? Tell us about one of your projects.
The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Southern California Edison in Jan 2010
Interview
Basically I applied through my university career website and submitted my resume. After a week, I got a email stating that I am chosen to do a phone interview. Couple of days later I get the call.
1. Why do you want to work for SCE?
2. How did you handle a very stubborn/ irritated customer?
3. Describe yourself.
4. Would you consider yourself analytical? what ways?
Most of the questions were behavioral.. That was it! I didn't have to go through an actual 1:1 interview and was hired through the phone interview. I heard if they really needed interns, they will just conduct a phone interview.
There was a job fair at the college I attended. I submitted my resume and talked to the recruiter for about 10 minutes. After a couple days, I got called in for an interview. Since I was applying for an intern position, there weren't really any technical questions until towards the end.

Interview
Pretty straight forward interview questions; the first round is your basic skills questions with a few situational questions; the second interview is pretty much all situational.
