I was contacted by phone and had my first interview on the spot. I was then asked to come in for an in-person interview. That interview was then followed by a group interview with other candidates.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Sephora (Brooklyn, NY) in Aug 2019
Interview
The interview process was easy, as long as you were prepared. Doing your makeup well on the day of will of course give you an advantage. Be courteous and show them that you care about helping out clients with what they need.
I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Sephora (Los Angeles, CA) in Apr 2015
Interview
It was a basic group interview. Very short. Maybe 10 minutes. The manager said she was interviewing hundreds of candidates for just a few positions (seems inefficient to me) so I assume it was just an overall impression she was looking for. There were about 8 or 9 of us and we all had to stand in the back room where we were interrupted a few times by other employees so it was not ideal, but group interviews never are. It was okay.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Why do you want to work here? Was there a time you saw a manager/co worker breaking rules and what did you do? What item of makeup could you not live without?
