I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Sephora (San Antonio, TX) in Apr 2016
Interview
Three INTERVIEWS
First one with a group, it was fairly easy.
Second with store manager about how to handle difficult clients.
Third was with a store manager in a different city max of 4 questions easy.
Than had to wait for district manager to sign off application.
*** IF YOU PLAN ON GOING TO SCHOOL, AND WANT WORK AT A FREE STANDING SEPHORA,
***DO NOT APPLY... SEPHORAS DISTRICT MANAGER DID NOT OFFER THE JOB BECAUSE I WAS PLANNING ON ATTENDING SCHOOL THE FOLLOWING SEMESTER...
THEY SAID IT WAS A "CONFLICT OF INTEREST"
For the company.
I had previously worked for a Sephora inside Jcpenney for three years and wanted to try out the actual Sephora Store because there is a lot more Opportunity to grow.
The manager said my experience was a plus. They just could not offer the job because I was going to school.
SO HOW UGLY OF YOU SEPHORA TO TELL PEOPLE BASICALLY THAT YOU CAN NOT WORK AT OUR STORE BECAUSE YOU WANT TO BETTER YOURSELF.
Friendly, lots of question and hypothetical situations in regards to customer service. Makeup portfolio was appreciated. Focus is on product knowledge and friendliness. Asked about retail background, what trainings I would be interested in. Also how hard I am willing to work to move up into a management position. Also my timeline I expect to management.
