- Online application form (write a Cover Letter) - About 2 months later I was asked to complete two online tests (SHL numeracy and logical) - 2-3 weeks after the tests I was invited to an assessment centre. RR booked and paid for the hotel and covered all travel expenses for the AC. We were picked up from the hotel the next morning by taxis which took us to the recruitment building. - 1 hour personal interview. About 10 min self-presentation (we were asked to prepare it in advance) and then follow-up questions from 2 assessors. It is absolutely vital that you know your stuff about the company, expect questions like “Give us a breakdown of RR revenue by business areas (marine, civil aerospace, defense aerospace, etc.)” or “What is the general name of our Long Term Service Agreements in civil aerospace?” Also usual questions "Why RR? Why commercial?", "Describe your leadership experience", etc. - 30 min SHL verbal reasoning test (time demanding) - 1 hour group exercise. Business case with an engineering element, our group (there were 12 of us in AC) was split in half - 1 hour technical interview with 2 assessors. They gave me about 10 scenarios about different aspects of commercial department and asked what I’d do in these situations. You can’t really prepare for them, use logic and common sense.
