I first submitted my application to the Community Associate role in Sydney nearly the end of December 2018 and received an automatic link to a pre-recorded video interview soon after. Considering that Christmas holiday was approaching, I only had a chance to submit my video interview in the first week of January and though post-holiday was probably a better time for HR to review my interview. Heard nothing after video submission but received an email from HR asking for salary expectation nearly 2 months later. I was not sure about their salary structure so told them what I expected and they refused, saying that this role only pay 40k a year in Australia. They asked if I’d be interested to proceed and I told them that I would like to as I was in the burning stage at that moment and thought it wouldn’t hurt going to the interview to see what it would be like. However there were no update again so I emailed HR two weeks later and they said, ‘please be patient’. 3 weeks after, HR called to book me for a face-to-face interview with the area and the community manager. Met an area manager who probably just a few years older than me and the community manager who may be in her late teen or early 20s. The interview were a mix of formal and easy casual questions. It turned out that the Community Associate role was simply a Receptionist role (they do not indicate this in the job ad). Both interviewers were literally gobsmacked when they learnt about my experience and projects I did in the past as I probably more experienced than most community managers here. Please be aware that communication with this company is very slow. Applied to the role in December 2018 and was only scheduled for a face-to-face interview in end of March 2019 - so that has been 3 months for me. The role would be more suitable to some school leavers who are hoping to get into corporate reception as their first job. It may not suit the experienced unless you want to accept a job that pay you 40k a year in Aus.
