      Ios Software Engineer Interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Quizlet (San Francisco, CA) in Jun 2018

      Interview

The onsite interview process was enjoyable for me! The day started with two technical interviews, both of which involved adding logic to a pre-setup project. It was a huge win to not have to worry about all of the overhead and boilerplate code. Additionally, we were encouraged to use both our interviewers and Google/documentation as resources, which allowed the interviewers to see how we handle tasks on an everyday basis. It was relaxing and very fun! Afterwards, I had a design question among the same lines. It was pretty straight forward - I drew on the whiteboard and conversed with the interviewer about my design process, and every once in a while would throw in a curveball. I struggled with one of those, but I was completely honest and tried my best to think of how to solve it. I then had lunch with two Quizlet employees outside of the engineering role I was applying for where I was able to ask them general culture and work-life questions. Afterwards, I had three conversational interviews, one with a Product Manager, one with Andrew, the founder, and the last with an Engineering manager. All three were interested in talking about my past experiences, and were very open to any questions I had to ask them. Overall, it was an enjoyable interview!
