      Product Coordinator Interview

      Dec 26, 2017
      Anonymous employee
      West Chester, PA
      Accepted offer
      Neutral experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at QVC (West Chester, PA) in Dec 2017

      Interview

Found a listing for this role on online job board. Applied via QVC job portal. Was called a few days after for a short interview. The HR representative was nice and gave a brief interview. At the conclusion of the phone interview, I was asked to participate in an in-person panel interview at their West Chester, PA location. Details about the interview are sent via e-mail and you're not provided much wiggle room on the date and time. On the interview date, I made it to their main entrance, was provided a badge for entry and was told to sit in their waiting area. My interviewer came out a few minutes after my arrival. I was interview by two people, both of whom parsed through my resume and asked relevant questions about my history and pertaining to their opening. Most of the questions were decision and rationale based, mainly to gauge what you consider productive and how you handle time management. Just about 2 weeks pass and I was extended a conditional offer to join the team and was asked to go through a drug screening. You are required to complete the drug screen 48-hours after the invite. Unfortunately, QVC does not contract out to Quest Diagnostics, and their provider LabCorp has terrible hours and limited locations. Be on the look out for this. This is the point where things hit the fan. In the interim while they wait for your lab results, they sent a moderately confusing New Hire Packet, filled with everything you'd expect to talk about during New Hire. To my disappointment, you are required to send *some* documents back via pre-paid envelope; mainly a consent form granting QVC to proceed with a drug screen. Additionally, inside the packet give you two dates you are required to attend, one for paperwork and the other for New Hire, again, the method this done is to not allow for much wiggle room on changing dates. On the date for paperwork completion, you are asked to bring the remaining forms back so that HR can complete them. They literally ask you to come in for 2-3 hours so that you can hand in paperwork that could have been sent back in the same UPS package. During this strange time, you get a brief tour of the building and then are met with your direct manager for another tour. This point is important, earlier I mentioned that you are given two dates to attend, one for paperwork, the other for New Hire. These dates are weeks apart and the recruiters are typically unable to answer when you are to start for work. Make sure to ask this. New Hire is clear and what you'd typically expect.
