I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Principal Financial Group in Jan 2015
Interview
Applied online through Career Website. Was contacted via phone by an HR recruiter to set up an initial phone screening. Screening questions all pertained to work availability and desired compensation. A couple weeks later I was contacted by the same HR recruiter to set up an interview with the Hiring Manager via phone (If your more than an hour or two away Principal won't bring you in for an interview). Basic behavioral questions asking you to describe a time when you worked through a group conflict or when you faced a difficult situation at work or school and how you resolved it, etc. No technical questions.

Question 1
Describe a situation, either at work or school, where you had to make a difficult decision.
I applied through university. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Principal Financial Group (Des Moines, IA) in Sep 2017
Interview
Phone screening, remote "on demand" video interview, in person interview. On-demand interview felt very awkward, as you are asked to record yourself responding to question prompts. Feels unnatural and doesn't have the conversational flow of a conventional interview.

Interview
One phone interview followed up by a in person interview. Didnt get the position but it seems like a very large selection process as Principal is a huge company. They ask you about yourself and to go over your resume and tell you about the position, just some basic things like that.
I applied through university. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Principal Financial Group (Des Moines, IA) in Oct 2016
Interview
30 minute phone interview and then an hour in-person interview. The phone interview was very basic, they just went over my resume and asked basic questions. The in person interview was mostly behavior based questions.
