I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Pridesys IT (Dhaka) in Apr 2025
Interview
I applied for the position through a referral. Within a week of submitting my CV, I was called in for an interview. Unfortunately, it turned out to be the most disappointing interview experience I’ve ever had.
There were four software engineers present. Although I had applied for a Java-focused role and my entire background mentioned in the CV reflected that, the interview began with questions about frontend development. One of the interviewers even asked me if I was comfortable working with frontend, which felt completely unrelated to the role I applied for.
Later, another interviewer remarked, "Do you even know Java? If not, there's no point wasting time with questions." — a comment that felt both disrespectful and unprofessional.
He then asked me to explain the difference between Spring Boot and the Spring Framework. I provided a proper answer, but he insisted that the expected answer was simply, "Spring Boot is a modified version of Spring Framework," which felt overly simplistic and inaccurate for such a nuanced topic.
It was frustrating and disheartening. If the intention was never to genuinely evaluate or consider my profile, I don’t understand why I was called in just to be treated in such a manner.
