Unethical interview practices with Powerex concerning exploiting applicants as free unpaid consultation sessions. Asked several non-interview questions soliciting advice and opinions to existing company challenges as opposed to scenario based or past experience base.
Also, it was an extreme waste and inconsiderate use of applicant's time and energy.
1st, Powerex requested a 3-hr late evening pre-interview selection challenge task to review several documents on a existing company issue, and then produce and submit a 1-2 page summary memo to the CEO which described the issue, solutions available, and to provide applicant's recommended choice and why.
After passing this, an on-site interview was offered, and a 15-minute presentation of the memo was also requested as part of the on-site interview.
The on-site interview lasted 2.5 hours to meet with three panels. 1st panel of direct reports asking career advice questions. 2nd panel consisted peer managers asking a mix of behavioral questions and several advice questions concerning current company issues. 3rd panel consisted of upper management and HR who asked typical interview questions.
Was told there would be another interview meeting with the CEO prior to the offer.
