      Senior Android Engineer Interview

      Aug 28, 2025
      Anonymous employee
      Amsterdam
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Polarsteps (Amsterdam) in Aug 2025

      Interview

I applied through LinkedIn and got a quick response from the recruiter. The whole process was very smooth and well-organized. The interview process had several steps: - Video call with recruiter - friendly conversation about the role and my background - Video interview with the team - technical questions presented as conversations about different technical solutions - Assignment day - full day working on a real project with the team All interviews were scheduled at convenient times for me, and the team was very accommodating with different time zones. Everyone was friendly and professional throughout the process. The technical questions were fair and focused on real Android development challenges. The assignment day was especially good - it gave me a chance to see how the team works and show my skills in practice. Overall, the process was respectful of my time and gave me a clear picture of what working at Polarsteps would be like.

      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Polarsteps (Amsterdam) in Feb 2025

      Interview

They're a small, cozy and vibey company. I had a short screening call, then a technical interview, followed by a full assignment day in the office, and a cultural fit interview. The challenging part was the assignment day, a lot of requirements for a short amount of time, a good time management was crucial, it was an interesting challenge, I liked the app that I made at the end. But also enjoyed the company of nice and fun people, they made me feel welcomed, and I also enjoyed the lunch, they even gave an Amazon voucher for my investment in the day. All in all, a great experience.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Polarsteps (Amsterdam) in Feb 2024

      Interview

I really liked the interview process—everyone was kind and professional. I passed the first technical interview, and the questions weren’t too difficult. Overall, it left a good impression. Unfortunately, the second part, where I had to build a small app, didn’t go as well as I’d hoped—maybe due to stress on my side. But everyone I interacted with gave off a great vibe, and they all seemed like genuinely nice people.
