I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Personio (Berlin) in May 2023

      Interview

If you don't want to waste your time and effort don't apply for this company. The process started on May 5th and ended with a negative outcome on June 19th (45 dasy). Throughout this period, I had to ensure my availability with very short notice, prepare a case study, and attend live coding challenge. Plus I had to participate to cultural fit interviews.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Behavioural interview: there were multiple question related to previous experience and situations. Live Coding challenge: questions were related to a shared github repo where an application should be debugged live . Verbal Tech: Given a shared document I had to design an architecture with different constraints. Even if it was not required I implemented a working POC that i shown to the interviewers.

Hello, thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback on our hiring process. We appreciate your understanding regarding the cultural fit interviews, as they are important to ensure the right people join our organization. However, we will review our approach to strike a better balance between assessing cultural fit and minimizing the time commitment for candidates. We aim to provide only the best experience for everyone who engages with Personio, and will use this as an opportunity to continue improving. Thank you again, Kálmán, Engineering Talent Acquisition Lead

      Interview

About six rounds of interviews. It involves meetings with the recruiter, tech interviews (FE and system design), bar raisers, and culture assessments. In general, everyone was very responsible, on time, and truly involved in the process. Overall, the process was great.

      Lead Frontend Engineer Interview

      Feb 20, 2023
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 6 days. I interviewed at Personio in Jan 2023

      Interview

I had 3 interview stages for the position of Lead Frontend Engineer in the Design System team: - general screening interview with a recruiter (30 min) - interview with an engineering manager for the design system (1 hour) - feedback session (30 min) The screening interview covered more expectations, coverage package information etc. The recruiter wasn't aware of some technical aspects of the product, but the second interview with the manager mainly covered everything that I wanted to know. The second interview included an acquaintance, a short story about myself, and then typical questions about the engineering processes in general and specific to design systems. Both team members I met were extremely friendly, making this experience simple and pleasant. I didn't get an offer but was offered a feedback session to understand what I missed. It was also done with the recruiter. Very useful experience

      Interview questions [3]

      Question 1

Name a recent challenge (in relation to design systems) and what did you do to succeed.

      Question 2
