Be ready to lose a huge chunk of your valuable time if you apply to Personio
They are not a company who respect and value candidate's time clearly. In the name of case study, they are getting unpaid labour work done for real business problems they have internally, and the case study has multiple prompts with each prompt having many sub questions, and they are completely vague and extremely broad, and you can never really know what you are going to be measured on as a candidate
It feels like we just have to rely on the case study prompt they share ahead of Case study presentation round to get an idea about this round, and there was no heads up from the Hiring Manager on what to expect in this round
Personio should know by giving strenuous case studies, there are not making their hiring process any better than other companies, in fact they are making the interview process complicated, and there is no guarantee the person who they eventually hire is going to stay with the company for more than even a year. What is then the point of putting candidates through multiple rounds and trying to look like they will go to great lengths to select the best candidate? This sort of complex process is common only in big consulting firms, and this seems to be the norm however for all roles at Personio. I really think the complexity of case study is intentional as it is a smart way to filter out people who are not willing to invest X no of days in their week, as the case study is extremely extensive and requires a lot of ground work & prep time. If Personio can give broad prompts easily, and wants candidates to put their heart and soul into prep, the presentation round is overall 1 Hour which is atrocious considering the amount of content one needs to come up with to answer all the questions they have given, answer questions the panelists have and it is not fair on candidates side. 20 mins is allotted for panel to ask questions and 10 minutes for the candidate, and 30 minutes for presentation. Respect the candidate's effort and time, and give them more time to present so there is enough time to go through everything, or reduce the number of prompts on case study. Surely, with one less prompt, you can still judge a candidate based on the criteria you have
High time you revisit your entire hiring cycle, no of rounds and reduce the amount of questions or prompts you provide on case study or the format as you are expecting someone to come up with solutions to multiple business problems in a week or lesser time that would take you months or years to solve in the actual role, and without much insights into how company operates, team structure, with no transparency into what you are really looking for in the case study presentation, how can a candidate hit the bar you have set?
Absolute waste of one's time. Apply for other companies.
