I submitted an application on LinkedIn and received an email from the recruiter the following day asking to set up time to connect. The interview was pretty standard until the very end when the recruiter casually mentioned that I would need a car for the position. I live in a luxury apartment building in a major city, and their $300/month car allowance wouldn't even cover parking (let alone a lease, insurance, gas, maintenance, etc). I understand that there are sales positions that require a car, but this is usually indicated in the job description to prevent these situations. I decided that I would continue with the process just to see where it led, and the recruiter promised me she would be in touch in the next few days. She even went as far as to say that "any recruiter who says they need more than a few days isn't doing their job." It has been nearly two weeks and I haven't heard anything. Even if they reach out again, I am not interested in pursuing this opportunity, given this poor interviewing experience.
