Disappointing, disrespectful and confusing process. After a month of interviews, I’m being ghosted after seeking clarity around my sudden and unexpected rejection. I went through 6 rounds of interviews hearing nothing but positive feedback even when seeking constructive areas I could elaborate on. In multiple interviews I was told I would be a great fit. After deciding I’d be a better fit supporting another function, I was told they “opened the role early for me.” I had already discussed salary and start dates. I completed projects and 3 hours of interviews plus endless prep work. Then after my final interview, I didn’t hear back for nearly a week when I received a templated email rejection. I followed up to confirm if this meant I was declined by the system for the original CX function or if I was no longer being considered at all. I heard nothing back even after a second follow up. It’s disrespectful to candidates to give multiple touch points of positive affirmations throughout the process just to reject without feedback or explanation. They overly-communicated their positive intent and I 100% was expecting an offer. What a slap in the face to not have the “ownership” or decency to even respond. What an unexpected disappointment.

mainly questions focused around scaling in hyper-growth
After being told I would move forward to the next stage (meeting with the hiring manager and completing an assessment), communication stopped entirely. I followed up after a week and received no response. In a highly competitive job market, timely communication is critical. Even if there is a change in hiring plans or a candidate is no longer being considered, providing a brief update shows respect for candidates time and effort. Being ghosted after clear next steps were outlined creates a negative impression of the company’s hiring process.
