I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at OpenSesame (Portland, OR) in Oct 2018
Interview
Melinda, the recruiter at OpenSesame, managed the interview process VERY well — the initial phone interview, the onsite interview and follow up. She did an excellent job communicating throughout the entire process. I felt we built a good rapport with each other from the beginning. It was not stressful at all. It was actually fun to talk to her and to meet everyone at OpenSesame. I was not offered the position, but despite my disappointment it was still a positive experience.
I applied online. I interviewed at OpenSesame (Portland, OR) in Sep 2018
Interview
I applied via LinkedIn within 1 day of the job being posted and within 24 hours the recruiter reached out for a phone screening. The phone screening was scheduled for the next day and then I spoke with the hiring manager by the next week. The first steps went really fast! My in-person was with 3 different individuals from the marketing team. The questions were most situational around my experience (what have you done/what would you do/how would you handle this). There were personality questions in the following two in-persons.
Between my first in-person, and following two in-persons, there were slight delays which had me wondering who and why I was meeting with certain people. But, overall, the process went quick and I could, in the end, very much tell that the entire hiring and marketing team was looking for a near perfect fit. This means having experience in the role, the industry, and having a personality that fits a startup!
