First round interview involves 2 back-to-back case interviews. The interviewers began the interview immediately with the cases. No introduction, no walking through CV. The cases are usually finance related, and can be challenging if you are coming from non-finance background. The first interviewer was nice and ready to guide. But the second interviewer was not only late to the interview, but also seem unprepared. He gave a market sizing case. He strongly challenged my assumptions, but only after I completed the sizing. I ended up redoing the entire sizing with different set of assumptions, which took up a lot of time. I wish he would have challenged my assumptions when I was walking him through the steps and doing the calculations. I think the interview style is very different from most consulting firms. The lack of introduction and walking through CV made the firm seem less personable. They may have missed out a lot of good candidates who have unique background and experience that they need for their non-finance projects.
