I applied for a position in Questers, which is a company, providing work force for Ocado in Bulgaria. The interview process is relatively long.
- First you get to talk to a HR person, which verifies if you fit the general position requirements (ca. 30min)
- Than I had a talk with a manager at Ocado, which was interested in generally the same topics as the HR person. (ca. 45min)
The following interviews where on site with technical people, which do NOT know any of your background or experience, because they don't get to see your CV.
- Technical paper test on site, which includes not language specific programming skills (1h15m)
- On site technical interview were you get to explain your experience and skills. The interviewers were pretty offensive and acted a bit frustrated when questions were not answered. even if this was mostly not the case. (ca. 2h)
- On site pair programming role play "game" - you get to finish a programming task, while a "product owner" is giving you the functional specification, while a "co-worker" is questioning you about every detail of your implementation. Following that was the creative part, where you have to design a solution for a complicated, lets say mathematical problem. (ca. 2h)
- Managing and leadership interview - general questions about what kind of leader you are, how to handle day-to-day team leading tasks and how to solve personal difficulties within a team. (ca. 1h)
Almost all of the interviewers had a high opinion of themselves and projected a negative mood through the process. Through the whole interview process, I never got a feedback if some of my answers where incorrect and why.
