I applied through university. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Northwestern Mutual (Cockeysville, MD) in Mar 2009
Interview
I applied through my campus recruiting. The local recruiter forwarded my resume to their office by my home. I went home and interviewed. The interview consisted of them explaining the position, asking me about myself, and then my questions. The internship consists of you writing down a list of contacts before you officially join. You then join, and contact this list of people to sell life insurance to all summer. You get paid a commission from selling them and a small stipend.

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Northwestern Mutual in Oct 2025
Interview
The process was very easy to navigate, but the interview was weird. I was asked way too many questions about what my parents, siblings, and friends do for work. I was also asked to give the full names of 3 people to refer to the company, which was very invasive, and I had to politely decline. Overall, it gave me a weird vibe, and I withdrew my application right after.
