I applied through university. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Northwestern Mutual (New York, NY) in Jan 2011
Interview
First I was offered to come in for an interview. Then I was asked to get a list of people from my family and friends I could sell insurance to. This is where I drew the line and dropped my application.
The lady I was interviewing with was very nice initially but once I dropped the position and explained why she became very upset. I thought this was very unprofessional. This only vindicated my worst fears.

Question 1
Being asked to sell insurance to my grandmother was definitely not expected.
Straightforward process, interviewed with them on campus. They provided the information I needed. I decided to not move ahead with the interview process as it did not align with my goals, but the interviewers were cordial and professional.
Felt like they were selling me something the whole time. Super easy to talk to, but something just felt off the whole time. Had multiple phases of them explaining why they're so perfect and great to work for (massive selection bias in some of their numbers)
