I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Northwestern Mutual (Chicago, IL) in Apr 2008
Interview
Was contacted by recruiter and followed up with a phone interview. Basic questions to get an in person interview. Had two in person interviews. The first was more in depth and asked a wide arrange of simple questions. They asked some analytical questions. Most were on your outlook on the sales process. As long as you are confident and can articulate there is nothing to worry about. Second interview was supposed to be a presentation, but they told me I was hired and I did not need to do it.
Straightforward process, interviewed with them on campus. They provided the information I needed. I decided to not move ahead with the interview process as it did not align with my goals, but the interviewers were cordial and professional.
Felt like they were selling me something the whole time. Super easy to talk to, but something just felt off the whole time. Had multiple phases of them explaining why they're so perfect and great to work for (massive selection bias in some of their numbers)
