      Proposal Analyst/Principal Proposal Analyst Interview

      May 19, 2022
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Los Angeles, CA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Northrop Grumman (Los Angeles, CA) in May 2022

      Interview

I applied for this role on 4/9. Received screening questions on 4/28, an interview request on 5/3, and the interview was scheduled for 5/9. Per the confirmation email, I would have a 30 min phone interview with one (1) person, the hiring manager. On the day of the interview, the hiring manager called me six (6) minutes late due to her "losing track of time" and she then advised me there would be not only one other person on the call, but four (4) additional managers from her team. At this point there are now six (6) total people on this phone interview. The interview was a complete mess. The JD was very vague and none of the managers present took time to actually explain what dept. the role would actually support before asking me to lead the show. The call dropped twice during the interview and only a few of the managers actually seemed interested in the call. It was very off putting. Going forward, I would recommend that they state ALL participants in the confirmation email to ensure the interviewee is not overwhelmed. I also suggest using zoom or at LEAST a VoIP and staggering the interviews to ensure everyone gets a chance to speak and tend to what is needed, as one of the managers just left without stating he had a previous engagement. Overall, I am happy they did not move me forward as it seems it would be a lot of unorganization to deal with.
