Long process, first interview was recording answers to predetermined questions, with no interaction with a person. Strange way to do things. Overall not a difficult interview, but it took awhile to hear anything back.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Name an instance where you saw something unsafe and had to intervene.
I applied online. I interviewed at NorthWestern Energy (Montana City, MT) in Nov 2024
Interview
Started off with the "recorded" interview where you videotaped yourself answering 8 interview questions that were to be answered in 2 minutes or less. Made it to the second round, a zoom interview with 5 managers present. Then, I was ghosted for 1.5 months! Finally notified I was not selected.

Question 1
Why are you interested? How do you drive performance improvements within your team or department, what specific actions did you take and how did you measure success? This was a random question - "Tell me something that is true, that nobody agrees with you on."
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at NorthWestern Energy (Brookings, SD) in Apr 2022
Interview
One 30 min phone interview with HR; one video call interview with direct supervisor, another engineer, and an HR representative (1 hour). It moved pretty quickly from applying to getting the interviews. There wasn't more than one week in between each step and the offer, which was given on a joint phone call with everyone who was present for the video call interview. As is the standard, the first interview assessed basic questions and interest in the position. The second interview asked more character based questions. Tell us of a time you supported safety or went against something your supervisor said etc.
