I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Netflix (Vancouver, BC) in Mar 2026
Interview
The interview process at Netflix Animation Studios, Vancouver started off surprisingly well-organized. After an initial screening, the talent team seamlessly set up the first round, which went well, and I really liked the team. This was immediately followed by a wrap-up meeting with a kind second recruiter who answered my questions and promised a decision within two weeks. Unfortunately, the post-interview communication was highly disappointing. At the end of the second week, the recruiter reached out to say they were meeting with the team and would be in touch soon, but then I was completely ghosted. I actually figured out I hadn't been selected when I saw other candidates announcing their new roles on LinkedIn. I only received an official rejection after I proactively followed up, at which point I was told it came down to "timing" and their "immediate needs." While they provided positive feedback- stating everyone enjoyed meeting me and appreciated my time, it felt completely hollow. Giving exclusively positive praise with zero constructive criticism is essentially meaningless and offered no real clarity on why I wasn't the right choice, which was incredibly frustrating after investing time into their process.
I was called by a recruiter and asked about my experiences. This was after I had applied and metioned a referral. The interview was not more than twenty minutes if I recall.
