I applied through other source. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Motive in Aug 2019
Interview
Recruiter reached via Linkedin,
1. had a phone screening with the recruiter for about 15 minutes
2. online coding session for about 1 hour with one rude engineer
Write a program that do "Goat Latin" with a lot of follow questions about that like what happens for capital letters and so on ..
i've never seen the question before but it was easy to do, and clearly that "rude engineer" had a set of expectations that he had to see (like finished all the follow up question since i think i ran out of time, the vibes i got were if you didn't finish my list of questions in the given time, you are out of the equation :) :)
3. rejection email with no feedback
Personally I've had very tense vibes and negative experience from the interview :thumbs down
Overall amazing interview experience. Total 6 stages and every stage was properly organised into a pdf file before the interview. To the point and relevant questions were asked. No random trivia or puzzles.

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Motive in Aug 2025
Interview
7 rounds of interview spanning over a month, each eliminating and at the end a nondescript rejection mail with no feedback whatsoever. Had to redo the machine coding round cause the api they came with was broken. So essentially 8 rounds and still not even the courtesy to explain the rejection. Apart from the last system design round which was at best average, I aced all the other round. 1 recruiter screening, 3 coding rounds, 1 machine coding, 1 system design, 1 hr manager round. Apparently they like to pretend they are Faang with none of the courtesy or professionalism.
