Interview
I have applied to Microchip from college as a part of placement process in my final year of bachelor's degree. There will be a online written test that comprised of 5 different categories like C programming, Aptitude, Digital and Analog Electronics, Microprocessors.
Later to written test there are multiple technical rounds of interviews are conducted. The count of Technical interviews is not certain. I am scrutinized with 3 Technical rounds followed by 1 HR round.

Question 1
In my first interview they asked me to explain how I2C protocol works along with it's data flow and timing diagram.
Later to that I am identified with my good PCB design skills and they showed me a schematic diagram where I am asked to identify the function of a small noise attenuation circuitry.

Interview
The on-campus recruitment process consisted of nine fully technical rounds. The interviewers primarily evaluated our final-year project, its implementation and originality. They also tested core engineering fundamentals and basic concepts studied during college to assess our overall technical depth.
I got a call from the hiring manager for an initial screen. Then I was called for an onsite interview with the team. It was a smooth process throughout and I was kept in loop with all the steps.

Interview
30 min phone interview followed by 6 hours of on-site interview. The questions were not very hard, mainly based on resume. Overall process took almost 3 weeks. Almost 7 people took the interview one-by-one, including lunch interview.
