2 screening rounds:
1 Technical design interview question on distributed systems taken over video call with excalidraw link to do collaborate in real time
1 Behavioral interview focusing on my experiences and stories
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Meta in May 2025
Interview
Got reached out by recruiter on LinkedIn! First call was introductory with recruiter about experience, expectations etc. There are 2 phone screens - behavior and system design. After this, there are 5 more interviews (in no order) - coding, system design, people management, project retrospective and behavior. Recruiter was nice and provided detailed prep material
For system design, I chose product architecture instead of system/infra architecture. For this, i highly recommend practicing on hellowinteview.com. They have practice system design questions which are quite detailed and informative.
For coding, they specifically mentioned no dp and no leetcode hard. The recruiter asked me to practice leetcode medium/easy only. There were 2 leetcode medium questions (20 mins each) on graph, trees and ds.
Project retrospective - one of the more interesting ones as they go deep on your experience for a past project (starting from how do you define scope, team, metrics etc.)
Behavior, people management - pretty standard questions.

Question 1
Design Leetcode, specifically leaderboard and pipeline for running answers
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Meta (London, England) in Jan 2025
Interview
Mixed bag. The behavioural interview was quite engaging. The design interviewer was tuned out. Concentrating on something else. A bit of a waste of time really. He didn’t show any interest in what I was drawing or describing and it was hard to know if I’d given enough detail for anything.

Question 1
Design Ticketmaster. Don’t worry about search. Just focus on scaling case of rush to buy thousands of tickets for popular event.
