    Difficult Interview

    Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3+ weeks. I interviewed at Mendix (Boston, MA (US)) in October 2011.

    Interview

Multiple phone interviews with detailed expectations and feedback before being brought in for face-to-face meetings, mock phone calls and finally a written test. I enjoyed the structure, explicit expectations and job layout.

    Interview Questions

    Negotiation

Not a lot of negotiation available because of a slotted system of job title. This is the one area I would like to see the company become more flexible, generous and open.

    Application

I interviewed at Mendix in November 2017.

    Interview

    Applied through Online Portal
Recruiter co-ordinated the process really well
She was good at what she did, probably she still is
Had a phone call with HR
1st week - Phone call with Hiring Manager - Superb
2nd week - Phone screen with Panel - Superb
    3rd week - Was co-ordinating On-site interview
3rd week - One more panelist requested to have a phone call (Didn't go great)
4th week - Said the position was placed on hold

Could have been honest about it, looks like a great company to work for, but you don't become great by sending comforting lies. Grow up Mendix!

    Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2+ months. I interviewed at Mendix (Boston, MA (US)) in April 2019.

    Interview

A Mendix recruiter reached out to me on LinkedIn, and we had a 30 minute phone conversation. Then I had a 1:1 phone interview with the manager, followed by 4 hours of on-site interviews in the Boston office. Next I prepared a 45-minute presentation to a panel of stakeholders. I was asked to come back for one final interview with the hiring manager. It was a long process but I enjoyed all of the conversations I had and felt that it gave me the opportunity for me to really get to know the team.

    Applications Support Specialist Interview

    Easy Interview

    Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Mendix (Boston, MA (US)) in June 2018.

    Interview

The interview process was very disappointing. I applaud the fact that they want to test someone who can troubleshoot by asking you to do a demo. Unfortunately the demo instructions via email were very unclear. The HR lady as others have stated is unorganized and unhelpful.

To help others regarding the demo as the instructions are not clear at all (extremely vague)they expect you to bring in your laptop with the downloaded application and the demo needs to be in PowerPoint.

Never in mind career for a client support job (aka application support) I have been asked to do this. So keep this in mind.

All effort I put in to understanding thier application and learn how to troubleshoot it for 5 days and they didn’t have the decency to email me that I did not get the job. I should bill them for my time.

    Interview

Very standard process starting with HR background screen. 2nd Interview was with a departmental peer in sales. 3rd was to be with VP. There is a lot of change happening currently because of Siemens acquisition. Many people have only been there for a few months. That said they are expanding.

    Difficult Interview

    Application

I applied online. The process took 2+ months. I interviewed at Mendix (Boston, MA (US)).

    Interview

I applied, got a response several weeks later, followed up step by step with the recruiter and had two on-sites and a design presentation. The company culture is great, really wonderful team environment, really crowded office (they're growing fast) but overall nice.

All the on-sites went well, I felt I had really connected with each designer and director. The presentation was very confusing and unorganized, the design test had outdated guidelines and most of the half-week used to create the design project was used looking up information on their proprietary software on their forums. I was able to present nervously, three weeks later, I heard back with a decline as there was another candidate with more experience and stronger technical skills.

Overall, felt it was a growing exercise, I wish I could show off my skillsets more appropriately and felt the presentation kind of failed me from the start. I felt I connected deeply with everyone so it was quite a loss, though I feel confident they picked whomever they felt was best for the role.

    Application

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Mendix in January 2019.

    Interview

Talked with several recruiters, finally scheduled a call with a director. During the call, I asked most of the questions, and he called women "females", which screamed that this was not a safe place to work for me. I ended the interview process here.
