      Design Quality Engineer Interview

      Declined offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

      I interviewed at Medtronic

      Interview

The interview process for the company in question was a complete disaster. Initially, I was told the process would involve two interview stages. In the end, I went through five stages of interviews, stretching over several months. After each interview, the rules seemed to change, adding to the overall confusion. Following my last interview, there was complete silence. No one got back to me. It took several emails from me to the administration to finally receive a decision, weeks later. The process severely lacked consistency. Despite this, most of the people I met during the interviews were quite pleasant. However, I cannot say the same about Loïc Josse. He was by far the most unpleasant and arrogant person I have ever encountered. After canceling several interview slots, he eventually showed up. During the interview, he kept interrupting me, not allowing me to properly respond, and mostly seemed to enjoy the sound of his own voice. In summary, this interview process was an absolute farce and a complete waste of time.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Please explain the quality management process for medical devices.
      Answer question
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Medtronic (Bengaluru) in Aug 2019

      Interview

Multiple rounds of telephonic interviews leading to a final in-person interview. After multiple rounds of telephonic conversations and interviews, decision was made to provide an offer letter without an in-person interview (probably as I wasn't in the same location). Emails were sent out from the leadership confirming the candidate has the necessary skillset for their benefit. Talks were held to discuss numbers for the offer and other offer requirements. A request was made by the leadership to visit the site in-person. Questions irrelevant to the position were discussed during the interview and I was told they will get back to me. Later heard from a third party source that they chose not to proceed since the candidate does not have the necessary skills, which did not make sense.

Tell me about yourself, experience in risk management, implementing six sigma and continuous improvement, other possible kaizen scenarios.

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Medtronic (Memphis, TN) in Aug 2009

      Interview

Two interviews with potential manager and mentor focused on technical knowledge. On-site interview consisted of 8, 1/2 hour interviews with team members. On-site flight and one-night hotel was paid for by company. Stayed with friend on 2nd night. Since the position was needed ASAP, whole process took about 2 weeks.
