      Lead Interview

      Jul 5, 2019
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Irving, TX
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at McKesson (Irving, TX) in Jun 2019

      Interview

I genuinely believe my negative interview experience is not a reflection of McKesson but it definitely left a sour impression. First contacted by an external recruiter to "vet" me before an internal recruiter contacted me. After speaking with the internal recruiter, they set up a phone interview with the manager. While the recruiter was polite, the lack of clarity of who was calling or how the interview would be conducted made the process confusing. I had to proactively confirm the date and time and method of contact (i.e. Am I calling a conference line? Is it a video call? Is someone calling me?). The manager was over 15 minutes late to 30 minute call. In fact, I reached out to the recruiter to make sure I had my time correct. He had to ping her before she called back to reschedule. The actual phone interview was fine - basic questions. Later I was invited for an in person interview. Similar questions, just more in detail. The manager was extremely off putting because not only was she late AGAIN but I found her incredibly disingenuous and left the interview hoping I never hear back. She smiled a lot, though it was clearly forced, checked her phone, and I caught her rolling her eyes more than once. The opportunity seemed interesting and positioned for growth, but in my opinion, with a manager like that, I wouldn't have stayed in the role for very long to see the potential manifest. They did do one thing right, I appreciate the email letting me know they went another candidate.

      Question 1

Why McKesson? What about the position was interesting? Do you have the technical skills listed in the description? Work history? Why I'm on the market? Why I'm leaving my current company?
