The day of the interview, I walked to the main office only to be ignored while two girls behind the desk who talked to themselves about 'so-and-so's birthday'. I had to listen about someone's birthday and another person's wedding for the next 10 minutes.
Finally, they directed me to my interviewer. He told me the job position that was open. (It was not the one that was listed or that I applied to via Macy's website. I applied for the 'Makeup Artist' position via the website.) Then I was that they were going to move a Macy associate into the position but it was mandatory to do 'outside interviewing'. He then asked two questions, "Why did you apply to Macy's?" and "Have you ever had to multitask in a job?" It lasted a total of 5 minutes. I felt as if the interviewer had no plans of hiring anyone who did not work at the store (as stated.)
It was one of the worse interview's I've ever had in retail to date.
