The worst interview ever and I am saying this after attending more than 15 interviews in the last 3-4 months.
The interviewer had prepared one questionnaire and was constantly asking about different definitions. A few definitions would be fine but he had asked close to 15 to 20 definitions.
I had to remind him that the interview is going in the wrong direction. If you are interviewing a candidate with 13 yrs of experience and all you care about some textbook definitions then it says a lot about the interviewer and the company.
He was not at all interested in the case studies that I prepared after spending the substantial amount of time and efforts. (Case study presentation is an essential part of any UX Interview and this is a industry standard.) His reasoning was that people always lie about case studies, they usually do not create those case studies on their own. Sick reasoning. I am not sure whether the interviewer was even knowledgeable or not.
After a few minutes of interview, I stopped answering the questions in detail and started giving short answers just because I was fed up with the interviewer's attitude.
I have given quite a lot of difficult interviews where some of the questions were too tough but the interviewers were professional enough to acknowledge that I am passing the questions and switched to another topic instead of pressing the same question and showing off the attitude of I know everything and you know nothing.
Guys, If you are applying for UX Role, I would suggest to avoid this company. The interview experience is pathetic.
If you want to work in a company where people only care about some definitions and theoretical knowledge, then go ahead and try your luck.
