I was referred in by a friend and contacted by a recruiter a couple weeks later. I worked with Nicole Sgarlato and AnnaRose Hughes — they were the best! The interview process was extremely straightforward. It began with a phone screening with the hiring manager, who was transparent, funny, and seemed like a genuinely good person to work with, and then I was promptly scheduled for my onsite.
The onsite was with 4 different people on the production and design team. Everything started right on schedule and each discussion felt like a real conversation. I was given great insight into the position but also a feel for the type of people at Lyft. It was extremely clear that each person works really hard because they understand the gravity and significance of transforming transportation. That overall energy got me really excited and while I already had heard about Lyft's culture and the type of people there, I really felt it.
The best part is that people are very transparent about the challenges at Lyft, but also the potential of the company and the good of the people. It really does feel like a company that sticks to its core values and hires people who align with them.
I was simultaneously interviewing at other companies, big and small, and Lyft's process was the most effective and streamlined (thanks to the recruiters and the team I was interviewing with). Ultimately I had to make a tough decision to accept another offer because of the actual job role and what I want to do in my career, nothing to do with the company or the people.
