I love Lyft. I believe in its company values, their product and their work culture. My friend referred me and everything was really great - I was excited, Lyft is truly an amazing company. However, my interview was far from what I knew Lyft was.
When I picked up the phone, the recruiter sounded bored, unenthused and in a rush, as if she hated her life or her job. She asked me questions about when I can start, my current job hunting status, if any companies wanted me to join their team, future vacations she should know about, compensation and a few questions about my experience. It was question, answer, question, answer. I felt rushed and she didn't really engage with my answers or anything.
She was in such a rush that I had to stop her from hanging up on me (it was a 10 minute interview) to ask her some questions of mine. One word answers for all the questions and she's gone, after telling me that she'll forward my profile over to the Hiring Manager.
I get an email an hour later saying that I wasn't fit for the role because I didn't have 4+ years of marketing experience. Oh, and the job description said 3+, not 4+.
I know that Lyft isn't like this so I have no idea what happened at my interview.
