      Sales Associate Interview

      Jul 25, 2016
      Anonymous employee
      London, England
      Accepted offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at Lush (London, England) in Jul 2016

      Interview

I applied for lush for the sales associate, I got an email back from them saying that my cv, cover letter was successful and wanted to know what skills I had I could bring to lush and my availability. I got another email asking to come for a recruitment evening that actually ended up with about over 40 people. We was split into groups, and had 6 different tasks to do!. Each tast was fun as you get to know the other applicants and talk amongst yourselves. You go in feeling nervous but as soon as the first task happens you feel at ease instantly. Personally I didn't enjoy the group recruitment as I didn't feel you have a fair chance at showing what you can really do, they do however say that they will be watching and noting down information about you, but to be honest as the group was atleast 15 people or more it's not possible to watch each and every person individually. You will come across applicants who are louder and more outspoken, and I did feel like this stopped myself and others showing our skills and personality, but you have to remember you are working in a group but also working for yourself. There's a lot to take in especially as it is a recruitment evening and it did feel at the end like I had done a 8 hr shift, but they did however give everyone a bag of freebies so that's always fun. The last step is to wait for another email to say if you are invited back for a trial session, however I did not make it this far but to be honest doing the recruitment evening made me realise lush was not somewhere I wanted to work at. On a whole it was a fun experience but a bit off a put off as I didn't agree with there interview process, and would go for more of a one to one interview.

Thank you so much for taking the time to comment on your interview and I'm pleased to hear that you made it to interview. Group interviews can be daunting and there is a lot to take in. We appreciate hearing about your experience though and will pass your feedback on. Best wishes, The Lush Team

Sections focused more on creating fun and memorable interactions and building rapport- it felt fun and expressive, and reflective of the brands inclusive and welcoming ethos. (And we all got a goody bag at the end!)

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

I was asked to come prepared to speak for a few minutes on a subject I felt passionately about. For this task, we were partnered with 1 other candidate and then had to describe to the group the topic our partner discussed.
