The hiring process seemed straight-forward. I applied online on the career section of their website. I received a response back from the technical recruiter asking if I had a portfolio for them to look at. I did not, but he still set me up an interview with the head of product design. I conversed with him about UX methods, usability tools and my overall experience. Following our brief interview, he told me that he would love to move forward with me and he would tell the recruiter to set up an in-person interview with me after a week wait (he said that he would not be in the office the following week). So I waited. And waited. I did not receive a response at all, so I emailed the recruiter and he informed me that they found a person over the weekend...okay, it was a good thing I asked. I am still a bit confused as to how the other candidate was found over the weekend and was hired so swiftly judging that the head of product design was out that week...I figure that he/she must have been referred by an employee or something. In fact, that seems to be the story with this company so far in terms of hiring from what I can see from the other glassdoor interview experiences. I admit, I'm a bit upset and somewhat bitter because I actually think the company has a pretty awesome concept and product in general. I really envisioned myself working there, but I guess you win some and you lose some. Otherwise, the individuals I conversed with seemed down-to-earth and friendly. I just wish that I wasn't such a victim of that type of shadiness and lack of professionalism. The bitterness will wear off soon and I've nothing against them at all.
