I applied through university. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Lexicon (Melbourne) in Jul 2021
Interview
Interview process kicked off with a quick chat with their talent acquisition specialist just to chat a little about the company, the role and the process to come. The same day I was sent a document outlining a coding challenge which I had 5 business days to complete.
The coding challenge was great, actually had me tackling a realistic problem and I was given free choice over tools used and frontend/full stack. As someone who was in the middle of a full stack course, it was a slight stretch for me but a great learning experience.
I heard back within 24 hours. I was provided detailed feedback on my submission and was invited to schedule a technical/pair interview. Two devs from Lexicon met with me via Google Meet and we went through adding a feature to my coding challenge submission. The devs were very friendly and insistent that it wasn't a test but a pair session. I was able to ask questions and it felt very collaborative, which reflects the company's culture generally.
After this I received some positive feedback on my attitude in the pair session and was invited to schedule a meeting with the directors of LD. I ended up meeting one of the directors and we had a casual chat in which we talked about the importance of Agile principles to the company and I asked some additional questions.
Within a day or two of this conversation I received a phone call in which I was offered a full time position at the company.
Overall my impressions of LD's hiring process are very positive. Everybody was very friendly and the technical aspects were challenging but rewarding with plenty of detailed feedback provided.

Interview
The interview process at Lexicon Digital was very efficient and fast with feedback coming back pretty fast after your previous rounds.
The interview process had roughly 5 rounds as follows:
- Initial phone screening
- Initial Face to face interview
- Coding challenge (3 days time to complete)
- Live extension of coding challenge
- Final interview
I found the coding challenge pretty standard and actually fun to do and was also a good learning experience and unlike the unrealistic purely data structure based coding challenges that most other companies use. They were very good with feedback and explained what I did good and what I could do better.
Overall it was a very good experience and as I was also interviewing with other companies at the same time, Lexicon seemed to be the most professional out of all of them.
I would recommend Lexicon digital to new graduates and also developers with more experience.
