The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Kohl's in Aug 2011
Interview
I applied through Snagajob.com and after a few calls to customer service to check up on my application, I recieved a phone call offering me a job interview. When I got to the store, I asked a worker that I was there for a job interview and he directed me to the customer service area (come to find out later that he was the same man who would be interviewing me). I was asked to wait for about 10 minutes and then the man who had first helped me came out and asked me to come back into a room with a table and some chairs for the interview. He read some questions off of a sheet and I answered them pretty much spot on because I had studied the day before (search for "Kohls interview questions" on the internet and it basically gives you the "right" answers). During the interview, the man told me that if I really wanted a job that I'd have to change my available hours from 5pm-11pm (it was originally until 9pm) so I did that and he seemed impressed that I just changed it, but I was really grateful for his advice. After the interview, he asked if I had any questions and I just asked IF I got the job, when could I start? His answer was that he'd call on Wednesday (my interview was on a monday) and sure enough, I got a call on Wednesday at 12:00. I was at school so I missed the call but they left a voicemail and offered me a second interview with the district manager that same day. I went in and he asked me some questions (they were VERY easy questions and it seemed like he was already going to hire me, the questions were just a formality). He told me he liked my personality and offered me a job as a sales associate for the JR's, misses, and men's dept's.
About 20 minutes , basic questions about teamwork and customer service. Had the interview and they called a few minutes later to offer me the job. The interviewer was very nice and made me feel calm
It was painless and super easy and I'm just putting in this information so I can view the average salaries of a company because I can't use Glassdoor unless I do this.
It was over the phone and very straight forward. I spoke with the current 02 (Assistant Store Manager) at the time and it focused on previous experiences in teams. Afterward, I received an email to complete the onboarding process online, filling out paperwork.
