      Quantitative Analyst Interview

      Sep 9, 2025
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Jump Trading in Sep 2025

      Interview

The HR first reached out to me via email and scheduled an introductory call. During the conversation, he provided an overview of the company background, the structure of the internship program, and the expected responsibilities of the role. He also explained the timeline and upcoming steps of the interview process, such as technical interviews and team interviews. In addition, the HR asked about my academic background, relevant coursework, and prior internship experiences to better understand my fit for the position. Overall, the process was very smooth and straightforward, mainly focused on communication and clarifying the next stages rather than testing technical skills at this stage.

      Question 1

Can you briefly introduce your background and explain why you are interested in this internship position at our company?

      Quantitative Analyst Interview

      Oct 29, 2024
      Anonymous interview candidate
      London, England
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Jump Trading (London, England) in Sep 2024

      Interview

***Process*** A Jump Trading recruiter contacted me for Power Quantitative Analyst role at Jump Trading. I did two stages of interviews on site. Each stage lasted 3 hours and I was interviewed by 6 people in total. I was not offered a role. ***Red flags*** 1. There was no job description, 2. In hindsight I believe they are justing fishing for information. I should have noticed this as none of the interviewers asked for my current compensation and when I asked the recuriter "Why nobody asks for my current compensation?"; he answered "Compensation is never an issue". A total joke now that I think of. 3. The 6 people that I met were did not impress me with their market knowledge once. They know about the power market at the pub-talk level. I spoke to two traders. Unfortunately again, they did not gave me the impression that they are P&L generators. One of them is from an ex multi-strategy hedge-fund. When I asked him why did you move to Jump trading from the big hedge-fund, he said "In Jump Trading, he can network with people". No comment. 4. Their non-compete period is very high. The highest I've ever heard of and I was told it is non-negotiable, ***Summary*** I was not offered the role. I was told that there was another candidate who was more experienced than me. I suggest don't consider working as Power Quantitative Analyst at Jump Trading London unless they provide a clear job description and they ask you for your compensation in the beginning.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Q1 How does the Euphemia model works? Q2 Can you automate event-driven short-term power market signals? Q3 Which weather, data vendors do you use for Power price forecasting?
