      Technical Account Manager Interview

      Dec 11, 2015
      Anonymous employee
      Portland, OR
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Jive Software (Portland, OR) in Oct 2015

      Interview

I have a friend that works at Jive and knew that it's a great company to work for so I had been keeping my eyes open for a position. I saw the job on LinkedIn.com and clicked to apply. The link took me to Jive's website where I uploaded my cover letter, resume, and completed their application. I was contacted and had a phone interview with a recruiter. The call was very informational and lead to having subsequent phone interviews and then an in-person interview. The in-person interview was about 3.5 hours long and involved a presentation to the management of the role I applied for.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

I was asked several questions about customer interaction, handling issues, and how I reacted when I realized that I may have made a mistake that involved a customer.

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Jive Software (Portland, OR)

      Interview

8 hours of back to back interviews. Less then 24 hours to create an original presentation. Everyone I met was amazing and even the presentation was a blast to present.

      Technical Account Manager Interview

      Oct 7, 2015
      Anonymous employee
      Portland, OR
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Jive Software (Portland, OR) in Sep 2015

      Interview

First was a phone screening with the recruiter - basic questions about experience, relevance, etc. Second was a phone interview with the hiring manager - a deeper dive into experience, why it would be a good fit, and a very conversational discussion on the position. Third was a 3.5hr in-office interview with six 30-min one-on-one interviews with varying people. This included current TAMs, TAM Managers, Support Managers, and a TAM Director. I was also asked to prepare a 10-15min presentation for the end of this interview, which was performed in front of three managers. Overall, this experience was overwhelmingly positive. Communication was very clear and open from the initial phone screening through the final interview. While the in-office interview day was difficult purely from a time/stress/presentation standpoint, at no point was it anywhere close to negative. The whole interview process was a genuine exploration for both Jive and me to discover if the role was a good fit.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

The only "difficult" questions I encountered were behavioral questions about experiences I had which were relevant to the position I was interviewing for. I would say that anyone should be ready to answer these questions anyways :)
