I applied through a staffing agency. I interviewed at Jacobs (Greenville, SC) in May 2022
Interview
I had worked for them decades ago, so I was familiar with the Greenville, South Carolina office. Things have gone downhill for sure. This (dour) woman I talked to (who was the department head, and she wasn't there when I worked there), didn't seem to have a clue (at least to me). She kept asking all these canned questions that had nothing to do with my skill set. Stuff like "What motivates you?" I tried not to laugh at that stuff. She kept delaying the interview too....which I thought was pretty unprofessional (considering she gave personal business as the reason for the delays). I admit I kind of got quiet very quickly because I couldn't think of much of an answer for some of the preposterous questions. In any case, she didn't ask a single question about some of my credentials....and I have some that are atypical for structural engineers in the southeast. If you don't know talent when you see it....good luck on building a team. No wonder at some of the things I have been hearing about that department in recent years.
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Jacobs (Stockton-on-Tees, England) in Aug 2025
Interview
The interview process at Jacobs typically includes application screening, an initial HR interview, technical or competency-based interviews, and sometimes a final managerial discussion to assess skills, experience, and cultural fit.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Jacobs (Indianapolis, IN) in Aug 2024
Interview
Zoom interview with the engineering manager. Then invited to an in-site interview with the structural team. They explained more about the type of work they do and how the office works. Some questions about my background and experience and why would like to be part of the team.
