Passed the first stage screening without any real problems. Just confirming job role, qualifications, location, salary band etc.
Second stage was a follow-up telephone interview by someone who sounded as if they were from the HR department and didn't fully understand the role or had read my application.
The questions I was being asked were very stop-and-start, and felt like they were being read from a script and under time-pressure. For example, I was asked what experience I had with a very specific type of risk assessment methodology, and then read out loud what sounded like an internal document control code to me and was audibly annoyed when I responded that I had never heard of that codes document before.
I was then asked a number of other questions but was interrupted before I had been able to actually answer the questions fully, as if this was an inconvenience and the last thing on her to-do list before going home that day.
The final negative point about the interview was that during one answer I had started giving, she loudly sighed down the phone in a manner which I can only assume meant that she was bored of the interview process.
After confirming that there were no further questions to ask me, I was told that they'd be in touch to let me know the outcome, but then I heard nothing and got zero feedback about the status of my application.
The telephone interview really knocked my confidence, especially as a fresh graduate trying to make a good impression and it has really put me off the company as a whole, which is unfortunate because I had been recommended to consider them.
