      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Jacobs (Boston, MA) in Jan 2009

      Interview

Met with the manager for the prospective position - very pleasant experience, was on time, attentive to detail; definitely spent time looking at my resume. I left positive impression and was introduced to the "future colleagues". The manager was 99% certain I would get the job. Second interview was 3 weeks after the first one (adjustments due to the schedule of the Regional Manager); he was late, in a hurry, rude, and didn't listen to the answers/questions. I heard back from them 5 days after the second interview - they hired someone with more experience.
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Jacobs (Arlington, VA) in Jan 2020

      Interview

The 1st interview was a 30 minute conversation on the phone with the recruiter about my experience and expectations. This was a positive conversation and led to scheduling an in-person interview. The 2nd interview was held at Jacobs' office (Arlington, VA). I arrived early but the receptionist wasn't aware of my interview and informed me that my contact for the interview didn't work at that office. So, I waited. 15 minutes after my interview was supposed to start, a different member of the interview panel arrived and led me to a conference room to set up a call with the other two panel members. The interview was more of a conversation than Q & A. The interview felt very positive and went over time due to the late start. The in-person interviewer even offered me his card, though he didn't have any with him. I have received no update about the position from the interview panel or the recruiter. Like all jobseekers, I prefer to be informed if I did not get the position rather than be left hanging indefinitely. I would have expected a firm as large and prestigious as Jacobs to not ghost a job candidate if they didn't get the position.

Assessment Center: Group project, interview and assessments. All pretty average, same as described by other reviews. HOWEVER, there is no calculator for the math assessment but it is multiple choice and the answers are pretty far apart. Thus, it is easy to estimate the correct answer. In short, do not try to compute them, you won't have enough time.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Jacobs (Atlanta, GA) in Nov 2016

      Interview

The first interview was via Skype, and lasted about an hour. The panel consisted of my immediate supervisor, and section supervisor. They asked me to describe myself; education background, professional experience. They asked me questions related to my resume, about the projects I've worked on. They were incredibly interested in how I view the industry, and where I think it is going. For the second interview I went to their office, and they took me out to lunch. During this interview they wanted to get to know me; my interests both professional and personal. They described the city and the types of projects they work on, and where they want to take their section in the future. On returning to the office, they introduced me to future collegues, and other people in other departments.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

What is your professional experience? How do you view the industry? What projects have you worked on, and what have you learned in the process? How do you approach time management?
