      Recruiter Interview

      Feb 17, 2015
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Toronto, ON
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Insight Global (Toronto, ON) in Jan 2015

      Interview

I was recently contacted by an Insight Global recruiter who was given my contact information from a close friend. The recruiter reached out to me asking if I may be interested in becoming a recruiter at Insight Global. She explained the company overview and what the job entails along with all the benefits of working for their company. It sounded interesting, so I followed up. I went in for my first interview and hit it off immediately with two different hiring managers. Had great conversations with both of them and this seemed like a place where I would want to work. One of the things I noticed about this office is that everyone was extremely young (most likely fresh graduates). I got a call the next day asking me to come back in for my second interview in a week, which required me to meet the office manager for happy hour drinks at a bar. **(The following weekend after my first interview I actually ran into the managers that interviewed me along with some of their co workers at a bar. They were excited to run into me and actually bought me a few drinks. They proceeded to tell me that I'm perfect for this job and that they will be offering me a position.) I met with the manager again for my second interview at the bar and had another great conversation. I was feeling good about the entire process and was hoping he would soon offer me a position. After the second interview wrapped up, I headed home. Again, I got another call the following day asking me to come back in for a 3rd interview. I went back in met with the regional manager and had another good conversation. It was a quick conversation (maybe took about 10-15 minutes) we discussed salaries, the promotion scale, and the overall company. Feeling optimistic about the way all of my interviews went and the fact that the hiring manager told me they would be offering me a position was great. Sure enough I get a call the following day after my final interview from my recruiter telling me I didn't get the job. I was completely shocked and asked why I wasn't offered the job. She told me that the managers didn't think I had a high enough energy level for the job. I asked her what they mean by this and she said "I don't know, thats just what they told me". As you can tell I was extremely disappointed in the way they handled this entire process and strung me along only to tell me I didn't get the job. A better explanation as to why I didn't get the job would have been the absolute least they could do. At any rate I'm happy it didn't work out, as in the end this company seemed to have zero professionalism. Hope this helps for anyone thats interviewing.

      Anonymous interview candidate
      Denver, CO
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Insight Global (Denver, CO) in Mar 2026

      Interview

Started with an initial meeting over Microsoft Teams; Recruiter interviewed me twice before offering an in person interview. The in person interview was much more interpersonal, they had me meet the team and introduced me to everyone on the floor. When the actual interview started it seemed they were scanning my personal communication skills without be prudent to my abilities to complete the job. I was invited back for a shadow/lunch session, this was another test environment of my personal communication skills. I felt this environment was supportive but felt off, I appreciated the time to interview but was told multiple times; "We believe you have the technical ability to complete the job." I was told the day after that they were moving forward with other candidates. I completed a total of six interviews for this position with arguably more effort and time spent than I would like to interview. The shadow session and lunch interview took nearly 4 hours of my time (travel, parking, interview, lunch, shadowing time). I wouldn't spend this much time in pursuit of a position I was not going to be offered. Indirectly I never was able to speak with anyone in the office I was interviewing at previous to the interviews themselves. My recruiter operated as a liaison to me and the office without direct connection with the office.
